Anxiety is a natural response to perceived danger or important events. It's an internal alarm system that alerts us to pay attention. Although anxiety protects us, it can also prohibit us from doing the things we want to do.
EMMA Counseling works with clients to understand the four main components of anxiety symptoms: physiological responses, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors or outcomes. We help clients build tolerance to life's uncertainties by understanding how our brain and body works, normalizing the experience, externalizing the anxiety, and learning to pivot to keep doing life when anxiety shows up.
